How do we work with our imperfections instead of pushing them away?

Awareness – Acceptance – Compassion
When I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
– Carl Rogers
If we do not accept ourselves, our ability to love and be loved decreases and our “internal war” increases.
Imperfections… Fears… Uncertainties… yield our super-strengths.
Ultimately, leading to our full potential.

How do we let in compassion?
Self-Kindness.
Mindfulness.
Recognition of Common Humanity.
-Kristin Neff, PhD

What is self-acceptance?
An ultimate “peace pact” between you and yourself.
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

The sum of our parts; that is, the good, bad, and in between…
…is a beautiful, unique being.
Remember,
“I am enough and there is still work I want to do.”
Bottom Line:
Increased Self-Acceptance and Self-Compassion produces…
…Increased Resilience, Optimism, Curiosity, and Life Satisfaction.
Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
