Whatever my journey today brings, I can meet it with more open and accepting energy, because self-love makes me adaptable.

If I feel embarrassed about something today, whether it’s something that happened recently or something that happened a long time ago, I’ll be my own best friend and tell myself some wise and comforting words that will make it seem not nearly as bad.

If I take myself too seriously today, I can roll my eyes, smirk inwardly, or in some other way laugh at myself with one of my closest, oldest friends – me.

Because I know we are all connected by a common humanity and vulnerability, today I will be gentle, kind, or merciful to someone whom I normally find triggering or difficult.

If I get jealous about something someone else has – whether it’s an award, a relationship, a very healthy body, or a great self-love practice – I’ll use this person’s example as an inspiration to go after things  I want to create a version of what they have that would be right for me.
