Calm Practice

Eye Rest

If you feel overwhelmed or overstimulated, this tool will calm you by reducing your sensory input.

Here’s how:

  • Find a cozy, comfortable and distraction-free place to lie down where you will not be disturbed.
  • Cover your eyes with an eye mask or a weighted eye pillow. *A pillow case or small blanket can be used instead.
  • Rest your focus on your breath and the weighted feeling on your eyes.
  • Notice thoughts that surface and emotions that may bubble up. Watch them come and go like clouds in the sky. Stay in the place as long as you need.
