TED Talk Tuesday

What brings you happiness?

What gives your life meaning and purpose?

Our culture is obsessed with happiness, but happiness is not consistent and there is a more fulfilling path, according to journalist and author, Emily Esfahani Smith. If we serve something beyond ourselves and develop our best inner beings, we will have something meaningful to grasp. In Emily Esfahani Smith’s TED Talk, There’s More to Life Than Being Happy, she offers four pillars to have a meaningful life: Belonging, Purpose, Transcendence, and Storytelling.

For more information, check out Emily Esfahani Smith’s book, “The Power of Meaning.” She discusses the latest research, including stories of fascinating people she interviewed, to conclude that the search for meaning is far more fulfilling than the pursuit of personal happiness.
