Calm Practice
Savor A Scent
Find something that has a calming scent such as, a candle, hot chocolate, coffee beans, a flower, essential oils or moisturizer, and savor it.
Here’s how!
- Close your eyes. Bring the object to your nose and inhale slowly.
- Describe the scent to yourself.
- Notice all of the different fragrance notes.
- What emotion does this scent bring up for you?
- Do any thoughts or memories arise from this scent?
Sit with this practice as long as you desire. You could also switch to another scented object. Notice how you feel after a minute or so of savoring a scent you love.
