Ocean Breath
Ocean breath (also called Ujjayi breathing) is a pranayama technique to help us to feel more calm and centered.
Here’s how!
- Create a gentle constriction in your throat so that your inhale and exhale (through your nose) makes an audible sound like an ocean wave.
- Notice how your inhale feels cooler in your nostrils, and your exhale feels warmer.
- You might choose to close your eyes and imagine an ocean wave being gently drawn away from the shore on your inhale and then rolling back in to the shore over the sand or pebbles as you exhale.
- Practice for 2 – 5 minutes.
