How to use your body to soothe your mind.

Calm Practice

Rock and Tilt

Create space and emotional release in your hips with this practice.

Here’s how!

Sit on the ground. (You may want to sit on a folded blanket to slightly elevate your hips.) Bring the soles of your feet together to touch and allow your knees to fall out to the side in a butterfly position.

  • Variation 1: Holding your feet or lower legs, begin to rock side to side. Enjoy this gentle, rhythmical sway.
  • Variation 2: Holding your feet or lower legs, inhale as your belly expands and tilt your pelvis forward. Exhale and tilt your pelvis back (rolling onto your tailbone), and gently pull your belly in towards your spine.

Choose the variation you prefer and repeat for 1 – 5 minutes.
