How to use your body to soothe your mind.

Calm Practice

Alternate Nostril Breathing

This equalizing and balancing pranayama breathing technique, also known as Nadi Shodhana, purifies and cleanses our body’s energy channels.

Here’s how!

  1. Sit comfortably with straight spine.
  2. Rest your pointer and middle fingers between your eyebrows. You will use your thumb and ring fingers to alternately close and release your nostrils.
  3. Exhale fully then use your right thumb to close your right nostril.
  4. Inhale through your left nostril then close your left nostril with your ring finger.
  5. Release your right nostril and exhale.
  6. Inhale through your right nostril then close your right nostril with your thumb.
  7. Release your left nostril and exhale.
  8. Return to step 4 and repeat.

Spend 3 – 5 minutes with this calming breath practice which relaxes and settles your mind, body, and emotions by balancing both hemispheres of the brain.
