How to use your body to soothe your mind.

Calm Practice

Mindful Cup of Tea

A lovely little mindful moment we can weave into our every day lives.

Here’s how!

  1. Sit in a comfy and cozy chair with a cuppa*.
  2. Witness your body: the feeling of your back against your seat; your feet gently resting on the floor; the weight of the cup of tea and the feeling of the hot mug warming your hands.
  3. Take a ling slow inhale, savoring the tea’s aroma. 
  4. Observe all of the visual details of your tea such as, the way the light is bouncing off the liquid, the color, and the texture of the mug.
  5. Finally, take a sip. Feel the heat on your tongue, embrace the flavor and the way it feels as you swallow. 

 

 

 

 

 

*Cuppa is British and Australian informal term that refers to a cup of tea, not coffee.
