Cabbage with Carrots Stir-Fry
It’s cabbage season!
A quick to prep recipe with minimal ingredients!
Special thank you to wellness expert and Peloton senior instructor, Emma Lovewell for sharing this recipe, which is similar to a recipe (“xia fan cai”) she ate growing up. Pair it with a protein and rice for a well-balanced healthy meal.

Ingredients
- 1/2 head of Cabbage (washed and chopped)
- 3 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt, to taste
- 2 – 3 Carrots (peeled and julienned)
- 2 tablespoons Ginger (minced)
- 3 – 4 Garlic Cloves (minced)
- 4 tablespoons Dark Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
- Chilis (*optional)
Directions
Preheat olive oil in a large pan. Add chopped cabbage and cook on medium heat for 3 – 5 minutes, stirring every few minutes to make sure the cabbage does not burn. Add 1 – 2 pinches of salt to season and draw out moisture. *Goal, to caramelize the cabbage! Add the carrots, ginger, and garlic to the pan, cooking for 2 – 3 more minutes. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil, tossing to coat. Optional, add some chilis for a kick!
Yields: 6 servings
