How is your physical health?
How is your emotional health?
If we have a high fever or chest congestion, we will see the doctor…
If we have bone or joint pain, we will see a physical therapist…
If we experience muscle soreness, we will see a massage therapist…
But, what if we have emotional pain, such as guilt, loss, or loneliness?
A large percentage of today’s population who experience common mental health issues try to cope on their own. According to psychologist and author, Guy Winch, people do not have to be the sole proprietors of their own mental health.
We need to practice emotional hygiene – taking care of our emotions, our minds, with the same diligence we take care of our bodies.
In Guy Winch’s TEDTalk, Why We All Need to Practice Emotional First Aide, he recommends we take our emotional health as seriously as we take our physical health. Listen to his presentation to learn how to heal from your common “heartaches.”
