The Evocative Object
We think with the objects we love; we love the objects we think with.
-Sherry Turkle
What is an object that holds powerful meaning to you?
What object tells your story?
When you feel lost, hold onto this object and connect with its significance.

An object that holds powerful meaning to me is my Peloton Bike+. Yes, a stationary bike that ‘goes nowhere’ physically but goes so many places mentally/emotionally and spiritually. When I feel lost, confused, meh, or languishing, I clip into the pedals and just ride. Whether I am pedaling through an intense Power Zone Power or HIIT Ride or a calmer Power Zone Endurance, Low Impact, Recovery or Scenic Ride, the blood circulating through my body and to my brain brings clarity and ease. Oftentimes, it is the instructor’s words of wisdom that give me a new perspective, clarifying my thoughts and banishing my negative self-talk. Movement, in all forms and intensities, truly is medicine for the body, mind, and soul.
