Low-Carb Chocolate Donuts
Splurge on a donut this weekend… without the guilt!

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Coconut Flour
- 1/4 cup Cacao Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 4 Large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Coconut Oil (melted)
- 3 tablespoons Maple Syrup
Topping (*Optional)
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
- 1 tablespoon Palm Shortening
Directions
In a food processor, pulse together the coconut flour, cacao powder, salt, and baking soda. Pulse in the eggs, coconut oil, and maple syrup until thoroughly combined. Fill each well of donut mold half way full of batter. Bake at 350°F for 15 – 18 minutes. Remove donuts from the oven and place on a cooling rack. Use a paring knife to cut a hole in the center of each donut.
For topping: In a saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and palm shortening. Drizzle each donut with chocolate glaze. Cool and serve.
Serves 8.
*Fun Fact: Both spellings, donut and doughnut are acceptable! The official dictionary spelling is in debate. Donut is the simplifed, Americanized spelling and has existed since at least the late 19th century and became more commonly used in the late 20th century.
