Motivation Monday

So, you think you’re not good enough?

Read On!

  • The people you compare yourself to compare themselves to other people too.

When you look at other people through a lens of compassion and understanding rather than judgment and jealousy, you are better able to see them for what they are – human beings.  They are beautifully imperfect human beings dealing with the same universal challenges that we all go through at some point in our lives.

  • Your mind can be a very convincing liar.

Don’t believe everything that you think.  Thoughts are just thoughts, and it is unhealthy and exhausting to give so much power to the negative thoughts.

  • There is more right with you than wrong with you.

Are you like me and often zoom in on all of your perceived flaws?  Each time you focus on a flaw, stop, and remember there are a lot of things to like about yourself – you are alive, breathing, and able to try new things and learn new skills.

  • You need love the most when you feel you deserve it the least.

Do you find it most difficult to accept love and understanding from other people when you are in a state of anger, shame, anxiety, or depression?  Adopting the statement above will change your perspective and help you become aware that love is truly the greatest gift during these times.

  • You have to fully accept and make peace with the “Now” before you can reach and feel satisfied with the “Later”.

Embrace and make peace with your current state of being, and your journey into the future will feel much more calm, satisfying, and rewarding.

  • Focus on progress rather than perfection and on how far you have come rather than on how far you have left to go.

Do you strive for perfection and success, and when you fall short, feel worthless?  Striving for success and being willing to put yourself out there is an accomplishment within itself (regardless of how many times you may fail).

Are you like me, beating yourself up and stumbling backward each time you make a mistake?  Instead, give yourself a pat on the back for trying, making progress, and coming this far.

  • You can’t hate your way into loving yourself.

Plain and simple:  The only way to achieve self-love is to love yourself (regardless of who you are, where you stand, and even if you want to change).

  1. So true, after two weeks, the scale has not moved. I told my trainer this was just temporary. I feel better and soon the scales will move.
Will keep you updated and thanks for the post!

  2. The first month of your training program focus on feeling better and establishing a comfortable exercise routine – make it your habit! During the second month, you will start to look better: clothes fitting better, receiving compliments about your new slim, toned look, etc. Be patient, stay motivated, and pay close attention to your progress and small improvements. Keep up the great work!

Also, would you be willing to tell me your geographic location, and are you a member at Crunch Fitness?
