We are taking a pause this week from our regular Happy Caturday post series to honor and remember the long life of my sweet Minimi (Cali’s sister). 🐈‍⬛

After a big weight loss (despite increased appetite) during Minimi’s vet exam in March, she was diagnosed with  hyperthyroidism. Prescribed medication for about a month, Minimi’s kidney levels increased at a follow-up vet exam in June. She was removed from the hyperthyroidism medication as this type of medication can negatively impact kidney levels. 

The week prior to Minimi’s passing she had less and less appetite, only eating a Churu treat the day prior and nothing the day of her passing. 

This past Sunday morning (June 29, 2025) during my Peloton Recovery Ride with Christian, I observed Minimi walk into my bedroom. This was the last time I saw my sweet Minimi in full mobility. She crawled under my bed, which was her favorite hiding spot  since the time she was a young cat. Continuously checking on her throughout the day, hoping and praying she will emerge from her “sanctuary”.

At approximately 10:30pm, I became aware that my sweet  Minimi had peacefully passed in her favorite hiding spot.

I created the  photo collage and journal remembering the many happy memories with Minimi, and how grateful I am for her long life. This experience was very supportive in the grieving process.

Minimi’s  photo collage, journal, and ashes will be placed next to that of her sister, Cali.
