Happy Caturday 🐱

My 1 year old Tali with a soft gaze.

Tonight is Seattle Humane Society‘s biggest annual fundraiser, Tuxes & Tails Gala. As an active volunteer in their Cat Care Enrichment (CCE) program, today I am honoring this region leading organization in animal adoption, education and welfare with a short Happy Caturday post.

The Eyes 👀 of a Cat 🐱

Cats are always watching and learning about their environment and looking at our reactions to things.

One type of cats’ eyes that I’ll share today is soft gaze, slow blinks.

Visual Signs

Eye contact with almond-shaped or sleepy looking eyes.

May include a slow, sleepy blink.

What Your Cat May Be Feeling or Doing

Comfortable

Friendly

Wanting to diffuse any tension

“I feel okay with you.”

Returning a slow blink from another cat or human.

*Tip: Cats see movement better than details. If your cat looks like he/she is staring at you without blinking, it might be that he/she is looking at motions in the room and not directly at you.
